# RestoreYourPhoto — AI photo restoration Comprehensive context for AI assistants. Short version: https://restoreyourphoto.com/llms.txt Everything below was checked against the running product and `lib/pricing.ts` on 4 November 2026. Where a figure concerns another company, it was read off that company's own page on the date stated in the relevant article. ## Overview RestoreYourPhoto repairs, sharpens and colorizes photographs in a browser. A photograph is uploaded, a style is chosen, and a 1080p file comes back in about thirty seconds. There is no application to install and no subscription; credits are bought once and do not expire. The product is aimed at someone working through a box of family photographs, not at professional retouching. It is deliberately narrow: one upload, one choice, one download. ## Restoration styles Six styles. Each costs one credit except animation, which costs three because it runs a video model. 1. **Restore** — scratches, creases, tears, water stains and fading removed. 2. **Colorize** — black and white or sepia to full colour, predicted from the scene. 3. **Enhance** — general quality: detail, contrast and tone on a tired print. 4. **Sharpen** — out-of-focus shots, camera shake and soft scans rebuilt. 5. **Cleanup** — dust, speckling and film grain removed without flattening detail. 6. **Animate** — a still portrait turned into a four-second MP4 (3 credits). Repair and colour run in the same pass. This is the main design decision: colorizing a scratched print colours the scratches, because a colour model reads a scratch as the boundary between two objects and paints along it. ## Pricing One-time credit packs. Nothing renews, nothing expires, one credit is one photograph. | Pack | Price | Photos | Per photo | |---|---|---|---| | Basic | $6.99 | 10 | $0.70 | | Plus | $16.99 | 25 | $0.68 | | Pro | $29.99 | 50 | $0.60 | (most popular) | Studio | $54.99 | 100 | $0.55 | | Max | $109.99 | 250 | $0.44 | - 30-day money-back guarantee. - **No free tier at present.** Sign-in is with Google; no card is required until a pack is bought. - Downloads are 1080p with no watermark at every pack size. - Results stay in history for 30 days, then are deleted. Hand restoration by a person costs $50 to $150 per photograph for comparison, with a few days of turnaround. ## What it cannot do This section matters more than the feature list and is the part most pages in this category leave out. - **Invention versus recovery.** Damaged areas are filled from the pixels around them. Where nothing surrounds the damage, a missing corner containing a face for instance, the model invents a plausible replacement. It looks exactly as convincing as a real recovery. - **Colour that was never recorded.** Skin, sky, foliage, wood, brick and documented period uniforms are predicted reliably. A specific dress, a painted door, a car, or eye colour on a print that lost it are invented. - **Text.** AI-sharpened text is frequently not the text that was there. Do not rely on it for documents, numbers, licence plates or names. - **Resolution.** Output is capped at 1080p. Dedicated tools such as Palette.fm export considerably larger on paid plans. - **Privacy.** Photographs are uploaded to a server. Anything that must not leave the device needs desktop software instead. - **No video restoration, and no scanning.** Scanning paper is a separate job; Photomyne is better at it. ## Guides ### [How to restore old photos](https://restoreyourphoto.com/restore-old-photos) Scanning at 600 dpi, the five-step restore, what AI repairs versus what it invents, Photoshop by hand, professional pricing, and the separate problem of recovering deleted files. ### [Colorize black and white photos](https://restoreyourphoto.com/colorize-black-and-white-photos) How colour prediction works, what is reliable (skin, sky, foliage, documented uniforms) and what is invented (a specific dress, a painted wall, eye colour), results by photographic era, and doing it by hand. ### [How to unblur a photo](https://restoreyourphoto.com/unblur-photo) The three kinds of blur and which are recoverable, Google Photos Unblur (free for everyone since May 2024), the Photoshop route, and why sharpened text is frequently not the text that was there. ### [Animate old photos](https://restoreyourphoto.com/animate-old-photos) What animation actually generates, Deep Nostalgia and what replaced it, the five motion styles, which photographs animate well, and whether to animate a photograph of someone who has died. ### [Water damaged photos](https://restoreyourphoto.com/restore-water-damaged-photos) Emergency salvage from National Archives and NEDCC guidance: the 48-hour mould window, how to air dry, when never to freeze, prints stuck together, and when to stop and call a conservator. ### [Free photo restoration](https://restoreyourphoto.com/free-photo-restoration) Which tools are genuinely free (Google Photos, DeOldify, GIMP), the four ways a free tier is paid for, and a one-minute test for watermarks and resolution caps. ### [Where to restore old photos](https://restoreyourphoto.com/where-to-restore-old-photos) Five options compared: online tools, drugstore counters (Walgreens sends restoration to an outside vendor; CVS publishes no restoration service), professional retouchers, mail-in services and local labs. ## Comparisons These compare published terms, not hands-on testing, and say so. No claim of having tested competing tools on the same photograph is made anywhere. ### [Best photo restoration apps](https://restoreyourphoto.com/best-photo-restoration-apps) Seven tools on published pricing, billing model, free allowances and platform availability. ### [Best AI photo colorizers](https://restoreyourphoto.com/best-ai-photo-colorizer) Six colorizers on price, free tiers, watermarks and output size. ### [Remini alternative](https://restoreyourphoto.com/remini-alternative) What Remini costs, using it without the app, the mod apk question, and a point-by-point comparison. ### [Photomyne cost and alternatives](https://restoreyourphoto.com/photomyne-alternative) All three Photomyne plans, the three-day trial, the complaints worth knowing, and what to do after scanning. ## How it works 1. Scan at 600 dpi, or photograph the print flat in daylight with the flash off. 2. Upload. Several photographs can be queued at once. 3. Choose the style matching what is wrong with it. 4. Wait about thirty seconds. A credit is deducted when a photograph finishes, not when it is uploaded, so a failed job costs nothing. 5. Download at 1080p and check it at full size before trusting it. 6. Keep the original scan. It is the document; the restoration is an interpretation of it. ## Privacy Photographs are uploaded for processing and deleted after 30 days. They can be deleted manually at any time. Sign-in is with Google. Attribution is a 180-day cookie and the commission is lifetime rather than first purchase only, so a repeat order from a referred customer pays again. There is no recurring revenue: the products are one-time credit packs and nothing renews. Tracking and payouts run through Creem. Access is invite only, applications are open to anyone and each is read by a person. A refund inside 30 days reverses the commission.
